Raymond Butterfield II, "Ray Sr.", is the son of Raymond
and Alice Butterfield, founders of The Butterfield Home and Chapel.
Ray has been a Cranston resident all his life. He was a 1964 graduate
of Cranston East High School. After serving in the U.S. Navy for 4 years,
he continued his education at The New England Institute of Anatomy where
he received his degree in Funeral Service in 1969. An avid boater and
fisherman, Ray is a member of the Block Island Billfish Tournament Committee,
Cranston Knights of Columbus, Auburn Library Club, and is a communicant
of St. Matthews Church. An associate member of the RI Police Chiefs
Association, Ray is also involved with the VFW Post 329, and American
Legion Post 20. Ray is a member of the Rhode Island, and the National
Funeral Directors Association. Ray is married to Eileen, also an employee
at the funeral home. Together they have three children: Raymond, Michelle,
and Suzanne.

Raymond Butterfield III, "Ray Jr.", is the son of Ray and
Eileen Butterfield. A graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School in 1989,
The University of Rhode Island, and the New England Institute in 1994,
Ray is also a Cranston resident. He has enjoyed competitive swimming
all his life and is a Rhode Island Interscholastic League Swimming Official.
Ray is also a communicant of St. Matthews Church. He is a member of
the Rhode Island Funeral Directors Association, currently serving on
its Board of Governors. He is also a member of the National Funeral
Directors Association. Ray is married to Laura, and together they have
three children Emily, Raymond IV, and Natalie.
