Alexander D. Rego 89, of Cranston, passed away on December 2, 2019 peacefully at home in the presence of family. Born in Providence on May 17, 1930, he was the son of the late Alexander and Jennie (Colangelo) Rego and brother of the late Vera Larson. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Alexander is survived by his loving wife Evelyn Rego, two sons; John Rego of Washington D.C., Steven Rego of West Kingston, R.I. and two grandchildren Owen and Delaney of Washington, D.C. A much-devoted father he cared for their daughter Rebecca throughout life until her passing. Alexander was known for his friendliness, caring and love. He was always there to lend a hand to family and friends. He loved sports especially baseball and the Yankees. Visitation will be held Saturday from 8:30-9:30am in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday December 7, 2019 at 10:00am in St. Mark’s Church 9 Garden Court Cranston followed by burial in St. Ann’s Cemetery Cranston. In lieu of flowers donations to Down’s Syndrome Society of Rhode Island or the Alzheimer’s Association – RI Chapter would be appreciated.
