Michael F. Russell
Russell Michael F. 85, of Cranston devoted husband and father, died December 21st after a brief illness. He leaves his wife of 55 years Patricia V. Russell and 4 children; Michaela F. Barry of New London, New Hampshire, Erin Russell of Charlestown, RI, Sheila Russell-Bowe of Warwick and Sammy Russell of Providence. He also leaves a brother James of Pawtucket, 6 grandsons and 5 granddaughters. He was the brother of the late John Russell and William Russell. Michael was born in New York City son of John and C. Dreda (Rogers) Russell and He graduated St. Simon Stock in NYC and attended Bronx Vocational High School. He attended RISD and URI, and worked at Alumiline Corporation and Vistawall Co. in the Engineering Department. He retired in 1992. Michael enjoyed camping and hiking. He liked to read and was and avid chess and tennis player. He enjoyed working on puzzles, both jigsaw and crossword. He was a kind man with a good heart and will be greatly missed. The funeral and visitation will be held on Monday beginning at 8:30 from The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Williams Church 200 Pettaconsett Avenue Warwick. Burial will be at Pawtuxet Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his memory to Friends of Children Inc. 161 Cherry St. New Canaan, CT 06840 Attn: Leila Maccauley
