His aunt and best friend, Linda Tagliaferri and his nieces Addison Grace, Ella Rose and Mia Elizabeth were all loved and adored by Brian. He leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. Brian was a tireless person who gave of his time and energy to many groups, organizations and individuals. After years of playing sports he focused his time on hockey and became the only junior chosen as captain of the varsity hockey team in Cranston West’s history. This was such a beautiful and touching write up for Brian. We are still speechless and in shock and find it hard to believe. GOD must have needed an extra special angel to help him in heaven to have chosen Brian. His spirit will live forever in your hearts. Our deepest sympathy to Brian's entire family.

Brian was one of the funniest and most genuine people I ever had the pleasure of knowing. The energy and enthusiasm he exuded almost twenty years ago in CLCF soccer, is the same energy and enthusiasm he carried with him every day of his life. He will be missed.

Linda I am so sorry for the loss of your Brian. He was a very special young man.
John Cap - 03/10/2014
Brian was an amazing person. He was a role model for me growing up. I was lucky enough to have Brian as a Captain for the Cranston West Hockey team when I was a Freshman and his Junior year. He was respectful, considerate, dedicated, one of the best to wear a "C" on his jersey. B was the definition of what a Captain should be. Brian taught the younger players what team dinner meant. He demonstrated how to respect others, especially the parents who invited us into their homes so we could bond and enjoy ourselves every Thursday. Off the ice and outside the rink Brian was no different. He enjoyed himself and we all enjoyed him. B will be missed and I'm a better person for having him as a friend, teammate, and leader in my life.
Jonathan Gonsalves - 03/10/2014
To be reading this, one can not help but shed a year. I was in Brian's graduating class at west. Brian was such a kind, and outgoing person to everyone. Deepest sympathies to all of his family and friends.
Steve K - 03/10/2014
I have so many great moments with Brian that I will never forget.. I will never forget our long conversations on the phone trying to "fix problems" between you and the girl you were seeing. I will never forget your infectious smile and the way you made everyone around you feel and I will never forget the positive impact you had on my life. Love you kid. RIP
Vanna Nhem - 03/10/2014
Brian..enjoy your time in heaven you deserve it..you made your mark on this earth and your memories will live through your family and friends, you will never be forgotten...
Michael DiCenso - 03/10/2014
I'm still struggling to realize that this is actually happening and it breaks my heart to watch the Moretti family go through this... Over the past few days, I've sat in Brian's living room with the closest people in his life, sharing stories and laughs that temporarily relieve the pain. He was the most genuine person I knew and was the most respected definition of what a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend should be. You will struggle to find one negative thing to say about Brian and not matter where he was, Rhode Island or most recently upstate and central New York, he made an unforgettable impact on every person he met. It's tough not to think about the things I won't get to experience with Brian later in life, but he will always be with me and on my mind. I love you brother, RIP.

Richard Aitchison - 03/10/2014
Very few times in life do you get the chance to meet someone that truly leads by example. I was lucky enough to have known and becomes friends with Brian Moretti. Everyday Brian led by example by showing how to respect people, love life, help someone through a tough time, or many other great things he did everyday. I was lucky enough to both go to school and play hockey with Brian. Growing up playing hockey with Brian you know right from the start he was truly a special person that would go on to leave an unforgettable legacy on everywhere he went. Brian will be truly missed and I want to give my thoughts and prays to all of his family.
You will forever be missed. RIP

I am deeply saddened by the loss of one my finest and favorite students. Brian was an excellent student and better person. I always enjoyed our talks about sports and his aspirations for the future during and after his time at JWU. He would always stop by to talk about what was happening in his life and was very excited for the new chapters. I always called him "Mr. Moretti" as a sign of respect for his leadership work ethic. It's students like Brian that keep me coming to the classroom every day. I will miss him but feel blessed to have been able to meet and share knowledge with him.
Mickey Smith - 03/10/2014
To Brian's family and friends,
You have been, and will continue to be, in my thoughts and prayers. I met Brian for the first time only a few weeks ago when the team I work with, Saint Louis, played at St. Bona. Just in that brief time, I sensed that he was the kind of young man that all these messages of condolence indicate he was. I am very sorry for your loss, and I pray you find God's peace, comfort and strength.
Steve Brdarski - 03/10/2014
Your drive, work ethic, passion, and friendship will always be a big part of what we do at SBU. You always gave and never thought about getting something in return. I am thankful for the great conversations and we will miss you, but always be thinking of you.

To Brian's family and friends,
While I knew Brian from the perspective of a work colleague, he was clearly a genuine guy who cared for his family. When he emailed, he would add the line, "say hello to my family in Rhode Island for me."
Being around the team last week, it was obvious Brian had a great impact on his St. Bonaventure family in a short amount of time.
He will be missed, but never forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Brian was the kind of student every teacher dreams of. Brian made my day, every day he was in my first grade classroom! He made us laugh with his very special personality! Brian had compassion for his fellow classmates, a trait you don't see in a six year old! I am so sad that his life was cut short because I know there were many things left for him to experience! My deepest sympathy to the entire family, but especially to Paula and Corky! He was a great kid because he had super parents!!! God Bless you, my very special Brian!!!!!

In the past few days, i still struggle with believing that this is real. Brian you were truly one of the most special people that i got to grow up with and call a friend. I can't recall a childhood memory that doesn't have you in it. When we were kids I always looked up to your ability to light up a room, and also your ability to be kind to anyone you met. You gave 200% in every aspect of your life. Family, friends, sports, it didn't matter, everyone knew that you had their back, no questions asked. You always supported me to do what i loved and for that and your friendship, I am forever grateful. To Paula, Corky, Mike, Lauren and Linda, Brian will always be in my thoughts and i strive to be as good of a person as him. My thoughts prayers and condolences.

As I sit here writing this I am at a loss for words. I have woken up each of the past few days thinking it's just a bad dream, but it just won't end. I was lucky enough to be a close friend with Brian for over 20 years. I can honestly say that he was my first true friend. I had always planned on him being around for future weddings, celebrations, and an occasional cigar by the fire. Being at his house for these past few days only showed that so many people felt this same way. Brian was not only an amazing friend, but an exceptional uncle, brother, son, and role model as well.
My condolences go out to Corky, Paula, Lauren, Mike, Linda, Norma and the rest of this family and friends from the bottom of my heart.
He will be missed by many but never forgotten.

Brian was one of the most dedicated and inspiring human beings I've ever met. Not only was Brian a great friend, he was a role model and always had the ability to light up the room or cheer any one up when they were feeling down. I will always cherish the time I was able to spend with Brian and the great memories we have together. You will be greatly missed my friend. My most sincere condolences to the entire Moretti family. Your family, Brian, and everyone else Brian has touched are in my thoughts and prayers.
Roberta & Anthony Simone - 03/10/2014
Paula, Corky, Linda and family. There are no words--our hearts are broken for you. We love you and will keep you all in our prayers.
Kyle McDonnell - 03/10/2014
I was fortunate enough to be a teammate of Brian's for three years in high school. Brian's charismatic personality really impacted those around him and he was always capable of lighting up the room effortlessly.
Brian exuded all the qualities of a leader, as evident by his Captain status in hockey, and he made sure his leadership and positive influence on others transitioned over to life.
I'm truly sorry to Brian's family, friends, and anyone else lucky enough to have known Brian. Obviously, no words can quantify what his loved ones are feeling, but it should come to no surprise that many, many people have nothing but incredible things to say about such a good person. He certainly will be missed.
Joyce Sousa-Martin - 03/10/2014

Deb Marciano - 03/10/2014
I am heartbroken to hear the news about Brian. His smile and charm impressed me back when I was his 2nd Grade teacher, at Woodridge. I have such special memories of him, especially through some writing samples I share each semester with my teacher candidates. I always smile as I look at his message that I was the "beast tjr" (best teacher). Brian shares my son's birthday, which will now bring a special memory of such a wonderful kid. The world will be a sadder place without you, dear Brian. Godspeed. Thank you for touching my life. To Lauren, Mr $ Mrs Moretti, let happy memories fill your hearts. I am so sorry.

Scott Aceto - 03/10/2014
The loss of Brian is one that crushes us all. More important than his loss, is a reflection upon how he lived his life, and the lessons he taught us all. Brian lived, loved, and laughed to the fullest. Not only did he do it, but his personality was so incredible he made those around him feel the same way. Leading by example, the thought of Brian even in the darkest of situations, is sure to bring a smile, just as he would have wanted it.
As a colleague, fellow group texter, recipient of many hilarious videos, and more than anything, friend, thank you for helping to change my life, and for teaching me to always find the good. May your ever-watching spirit continue to do so for all of us.
As your twitter handle says:
"Lessons r Blessings u Should Learn Through. thoughts & opinions are my own..don't take life or yourself too seriously, you'll never make it out happy"
Hope you made it out happy B., and thank you for the blessings.
Karen Silva and Michael Sabitoni - 03/10/2014
Brian was an exemplary ambassador of hospitality for the SEE department of JWU - as his chairperson (Karen) and his teacher (Michael) we believe he was a role model for future graduates - he had a dream and pursued it with passion - it is unbelievable to us that his life which was such an inspiration to others has been taken so quickly - special thoughts to Lauren and Marc, our neighbors - simply could not believe this news - please extend our heartfelt sympathy to your family - he was a truly special individual - thank you for sharing him with all of us in the JWU community - such a huge loss

You are the definition of a class act. I never personally met your parents, but they must be some of the finest people around because how you were raised showed in how you were everyday. Still in complete shock, the only thing I can come up with is that god needed you. I'm more than convinced you are one of god's angels now. To the Moretti family, I am beyond sorry for your loss. You certainly raised a young man of character, integrity, love and was beyond respected by everyone. RIP Brian

Dear Corky, Paula, Linda and Family: There are no words to express what you are going through. Brian will never be forgotten. We knew him and you through many years of wonderful fun playing hockey for Edgewood and the Saints. He was always a great person who could lead others at a very young age. I know you are all proud of who he was and you should be. Even as a young boy, Brian always was an example for others. He was funny, smart and kind. He had all the qualities that one would wish for in their child. You were blessed. Our prayers are with you all as you go through this painful emotional time. May the Lord hold him in His arms as He comfits you. RIP Brian

Hey Bri...sorry it took me a few days to write something but I couldn't find the words...I Just left your house and the last few days have been surreal man. You would be so proud How strong your family has been for you and I want you to know that I'm going be strong for you tomorrow because I know that's what you would want but i'd be lying if I said that tomorrow...wasn't going to be the toughest day of my life...Losing you feels like I lost a member of my own family...I don't know how many days I have left down here but make sure you watch over me. It was no secret...but these past few days it was amazing to see the amount of people you had an impact on in 26 years...you were a best friend to me and so many others, a son to the most loving parents I know, a (spoiled) nephew to aunt Linda and many others, the best brother Lauren and Mike could ask for, and a grandson that any grandparent would be proud to have. I love you Bri, keep an eye on me man, I'll never forget all the memories we had together.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Moretti, Michael, Lauren, Auntie, and extended family,
Please know you are all in my prayers and thoughts. Imagine that Brian lived only 26 years, but he lived a life of someone who lived to be 100. His 26 years were equal to that because he touched so many lives with his kind ways. It is his family and all their love who made this happen. May you all take comfort knowing Brian left such a legacy. He is smiling down on all those wonderful and special people whose lives he touched. How lucky you all are, pass his kindness on daily. Pay it forward for Brian!

He was only six but he would speak to us like an adult! So funny and kind. He will never be forgotten and I feel blessed to have taught him.

Brian was by far one of the one of the most amazing individuals I have been fortunate enough to have in my life. He was the epitome and definition of an amazing son, brother, nephew, grandson, uncle, hockey player, leader, and friend. It breaks my heart to have to say goodbye to someone who could brighten even the darkest of days. However, I take comfort in knowing that he is watching down on all those who loved him and will continue to make our days a little bit brighter. All of the memories and laughs we have shared over the years will always be in my heart and I will carry him with me each day. My thoughts and prayers are with Paula, Corky, Aunt, Norma, Michael, and Lauren.
Love you with all my heart, Brian.
