Gordon L. Dean
Dean, Gordon L., 92, of West Shore Health Center, Warwick, Rhode Island passed peacefully on Thursday December 18th 2014. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada to parents Samuel and Matilda (Shupe) Dean, he leaves his sister Gladys White, residing in Canada, son Bradley and his wife Kathlyn of Duncanville, Texas, and daughter Karen of East Falmouth, Massachusetts. He has six grandchildren: Alison and husband Jon, Kevin and wife Becca, Trevor, Jonathan, Benjamin and Timothy; also two great-grandchildren: Madelyn and Sullivan; all in Texas. His wife of 68 years, Doris J Dean, preceded him in death in September 2014. He resided in Providence from 1952 to 1962 and then Cranston until 2012. He worked for the American Automobile Association for over 30 years and was an award-winning sales representative. He was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church (later Faith Presbyterian) and lately Phillips Memorial Baptist Church of Cranston. He served as a deacon in the Presbyterian church for many years and was generous with his time and money. Gordon was a loving husband, father, and grandfather with a ready smile and friendly disposition. He enjoyed dancing, golfing and playing cards. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm January 18th in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. I am sorry to hear about your fathers passing, I was a friend of Your mother Doris. She played cards with us on Thursdays for many years and always talked about love Gordon. I loved her she was a beautiful lady. They will finally be together again. God Bless them both.
