Virginia J. McCarthy
Virginia J. (Chestnut) McCarthy, age 72 of Cranston, Rhode Island, died peacefully at home on Saturday March 21st after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph L. McCarthy Sr. Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to George and Edith Chestnut, she was the youngest sister of George Jr. of Cranston, the late Marilyn Lefaivre of Seekonk, Nancy Laporte of North Conway and Joseph of Wisconsin. She is survived by her children, Joseph L. McCarthy Jr. of York, Maine, Mary Ellen and her husband Mark Kupcinskas of Douglas, Massachusetts and Bridgett and her husband Paul Duquette of Cranston, Rhode Island, grandchildren Laurie and Rachel Phillips, Mark and Kayla Kupcinskas, Marissa, Sarah and Paul Duquette Jr., Rachel, Amanda and Daniel McCarthy. Ginny enjoyed gardening, watching the birds and playing games. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00am in St. Paul Church 1 St. Paul Place Cranston, Rhode Island followed by burial in The Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, Rhode Island. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00-8:00pm in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island 1085 North Main Street Providence, Rhode Island 02904.

So sorry to hear this ... I have such wonderful memories of Ginny going back to when I was a child... What a lovely person from such a wonderful family...my sympathy goes out to you all...I know you will miss her...
