Paula R. Morey
Paula R. Morey, 69 of Johnston, passed unexpectedly at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was a resident of Cara Estates in Johnston, RI. Paula was born November 19, 1947 in Providence and was the daughter of the late William L. and Ruth Morey. She is survived by her twin sister Pamela Crandall of Avon, New York, nephews Robert Crandall and his wife Angela of North Carolina; Peter Crandall and his wife Erin of Wichita, Kansas, grandnieces; Sydney, Perri and Payton, grandnephews; Max and Chase as well as her beloved cockatoo Pinchy. Paula was a lifelong member of United Cerebral Palsy of Rhode Island. She touched the lives of many of those that provided her with care on a daily basis. Paula was always filled with laughter and a smile. Paula always saw the best in people and was loved by all that new her. She shared with many her wisdom and her kindness. She loved to shop, to socialize and to travel. Paula was known as the “Jeopardy Queen”; she loved to learn and to share her knowledge with others. One of her favorite pastimes was to listen to her books on tape and over the years had become quite the collector of many a romance novel. She was a very talented artist; and was an active participant of the UCPRI arts and day activity classes. For many that knew her, she was that comfortable place where you could go to share a cup a coffee (Paula loved her coffee!) a sigh, get a hug and feel so much better when you left. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday September 21st at 3:00pm in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paula’s memory to United Cerebral Palsy of Rhode Island 200 Main Street Suite 210 Pawtucket, RI 02860 would be appreciated.
