James T. Harris
HARRIS, James T. 79, of Cranston passed away Sunday April 29, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of June I. (Cunningham) Harris. He was the former husband of the late Nancy A. (Leete) Harris. Born in Waterford, Connecticut he was the son of the late Everett T. and Clora (Stanley) Harris of Westerly. James was a manager for Tilden-Thurber Jewelers of Providence. He was also a US Army veteran who was stationed in Alaska. He graduated from Alfred University with a Bachelor’s degree in Geology. James is survived by three siblings, L. Stanley Harris of Mars Hill, NC; Everett T. Harris, Jr. of Wakefield; and Ruth L. Rossi of Seattle, WA. He is also survived by three sons, Edward M. Harris of Pompton Plains, New Jersey; Thomas L. Harris of Jamestown; and Roger A. Harris of Montreal, Canada. He was the devoted grandfather of James D., Lindsay S. and Abaigeal N. Harris. James was an active member of Phillips Memorial Baptist Church in Cranston where he sang in the choir, volunteered regularly, and served as a Trustee for many years. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday May 6th at 4:00 pm in Phillips Memorial Baptist Church 565 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Phillips Memorial Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.

I worked with Jim for many years at Tildens and he was my dear dear friend. We stayed in touch over the years; he would even come to visit me at my store--D'Lan Fine Gifts.
