Antoinette M. Hoffman

Hoffman, Antoinette “Toni” (DelGreco), 85, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023 with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Ralph J. Hoffman. Born in Southbridge, Massachusetts on July 6, 1937, the daughter of the late Leo and Ellen (Materas) DelGreco. She is survived by her four children: Dr. Cary Hoffman, Cynthia Berlinger and her husband Marc, Michelle Russo and her husband Stephen, and Leah Gendron and her husband Jay. The loves of her life were her 7 grandchildren: Anthony Russo, Angela Russo and her wife Emily, Alexis Flores and her husband Chris, Sara and Ben Berlinger, and Joseph and Alex Gendron. Great Grandmother to Cayson Flores. Sister and caretaker of the late Leo DelGreco. Her greatest passion was attending events for each of her grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to cheer them on.

Antoinette enjoyed being a teacher and director at the Cranston YMCA’s Wise Owl Nursery School for 36 years, retiring at the age of 72. Children were her life, both her own and the children she taught and nurtured at an early age. They kept her young and made her happy. She was a dedicated teacher who loved her colleagues and remained friendly with them until she passed.

She was a breast cancer survivor at a young age, who became a Reach to Recovery Volunteer for the American Cancer Society, helping others with their battle of the disease.

Thank you to the many friends who supported her through her journey these past three years. She loved each and every one of you.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday July 10, 2023 at 11:00 am in St. Mark’s Church 15 Garden Court, Cranston.

Visitation will be held before the funeral mass on Monday morning from 8:00-10:00 am at the Butterfield Chapel at 500 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston.

Burial will be private.
