Barbara Grogan

On Saturday August 29, 2020, after years of declining health, Barbara Ruth Grogan, of Cranston,  passed away at the Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center of Rhode Island.  She was the wife of the late Warren Max Grogan Jr.  Barbara was born on December 8, 1931 to William and Charlotte Briggs in Providence, Rhode Island.  She was predeceased by her siblings Marion Olsen, William Briggs Jr., and Priscilla Potter.  Barbara was the mother of the late Kathy Peeler formerly of Providence and James Grogan and his wife Dale of North Kingstown.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Nicole Pope, Desiree Pope, and Angelique Pope-Meas; great grandchildren Dominique, Tamia, Adonis, Dario, Isabella and Damauris; and great granddaughter Melody.  Barbara was an entrepeneur and direct saleslady.  She was a woman of faith who never forced her beliefs on anyone.  She taught English to female emigres to the United States.  She and Warren were 'beatniks" who camped on the dunes of Provincetown and became avid world travelers.  In their retirement, they visited every state capitol and viewed the highest peaks in each state.  In memory of Barbara, take a walk on the beach.
