Barbara Negus

Barbara Negus Obituary

Barbara Negus 83, of Providence, and Mulberry, Florida passed away peacefully at home with her son by her side on January 4, 2021. A lifelong resident of Providence, born on December 7, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (Jordan) Doyle. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Thomas F. Negus Jr. Barbara was a precious metals production supervisor for the former Armbrust Chain Company in Providence for many years retiring in 2000.

Barbara is survived by her son and best friend, Thomas F. Negus III, with whom she made her home, and her sister Mildred Perry of Swansea, a sister-in-law Rita Briden of New Bedford and her dog Spike who never left her side. She's was the sister of the late Mary Chabot, Mabel Izzo, Joseph, Edward, and William Doyle.

Throughout her life, the thing that brought her the greatest joy was family. She adored her sisters, brothers, and her many nieces and nephews, and their children. In recent years, her great nephews Cameron, Perry, and Zachary Francis, sons of Barbara and Jeff Francis of Seekonk, brought her the love and joy that sustained her until her passing.  She truly loved them and their parents with all her heart.

Barbara loved to travel with her son visiting Ireland, Italy, Spain, France, Monte Carlo, Monaco, and Croatia, as well as many locations throughout the United States and Canada. She enjoyed many cruises of the Caribbean, and spending time as a snowbird first in  Ft. Myers, Florida, and in recent years Mulberry, Florida. She enjoyed playing BINGO, sewing, had a lifelong love and passion for shopping.

Funeral services and burial will be private.
