Barry Arnold Crins, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday May 4, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, retired teacher, Marine Corps veteran, and avid fisherman. He was the loving husband to the late Mary Ann Crins who raised their family in the city of Cranston, RI. He was the son of the late Howie & Pearl Crins. 

Barry proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, demonstrating dedication, discipline, and a deep sense of duty. A passionate educator, Barry dedicated most of his teaching career to Daniel D. Waterman Elementary School, where he taught sixth grade. He had a profound impact on countless students, inspiring them with his knowledge, patience, and enthusiasm for learning. His commitment to education shaped young minds and left a lasting legacy in the community.

Beyond the classroom, Barry found solace on the water. During the summers, he spent countless hours as a dedicated commercial fisherman on Narragansett Bay. Fishing on the local waters, he embraced the challenge and beauty of the bay, forging deep connections with family and friends on his boat.

He is survived by his children: Kerrie Crins Driscoll and her husband Gary, Barry Crins, Jeffrey Crins and his wife Alisha; six grandchildren: Macey, Matthew, Madison, Marc, Andrew and Leah and recently a great grandfather to John. 

A Funeral Service celebrating Barry’s life will be held on Saturday May 10, 2025 at 10:00am in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery Johnston.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00-7:00pm as well as Saturday from 9:00-10:00am
