Bridget Jean Pettaway 54, passed away unexpectedly at Rhode Island Hospital. Bridget was disabled, and a devoted mother for over 20 years. Born in Providence on January 6th, 1967 she was the youngest daughter of the late Major and Shirley (Brown) Pettaway. Bridget was a graduate of Johnston High School Class of 1985. She is survived by her devoted daughters Amber and Selenia Pettaway; common law spouse Victor Pacheco; sisters Sandra Henry, and Janet Pettaway; nieces Amanda, Ashley, and Madison; nephew Major; and her life long friend of over 50 years, Laurie Sylvia. Bridget was a patient of Fresenius Kidney Care for over 20 years, making her the second longest living patient on dialysis. A proud Capricorn,, she was well known for telling everyone how she truly felt and being completely transparent. As the comedian of the family, she had the gift to make anyone laugh no matter what the situation was, she could turn any negative situation into a positive one. Despite her own struggles and hardships, Bridget never gave it a second thought to help others who she felt was in more need than her. The strength, and power of this phenomenal woman was truly incomparable, she will forever be unforgettable.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday July 24th at 5:00pm in the Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. If desired, friends and family may send donations in her name to her daughters gofundme page for upcoming hardships.
