Passed away unexpectedly on February 19, 2021. She was 22 years old. Courtney was a graduate of Cranston West in 2017 and attended New England Tech as a graphic design major. Courtney was an exceptional child athlete: participating in track and field (CLCF), modern dance, and swimming. She had a passion for photography. She relished time spent with her family doing activities like bowling or shopping. She loved the outdoors especially beaches near the Watch Hill Lighthouse, Sabin’s Point, and the lake house in Maine. She worked as a caregiver with her mother, Jennifer, as well as a dietary aide. As a young girl and even as she became a grown woman, she loved swinging on her grandparent’s high backyard swing beneath sturdy branches of a century old oak tree. She was the beloved daughter of Jennifer B. and Thomas E. Long; and is also survived by her younger brother Joseph T. Long, grandparents Alfonse and Deborah Palazzo of Cranston, John S. and Linda L. Long of Warwick, great-grandmother Edith Wilkinson (101 years old) of the Scandinavian Home, uncles Matthew and Andrew Palazzo as well as many cousins and friends. We cherish the memory of her lovely smile, her sense of humor, and her gentle manner. In lieu of flowers the family has respectfully asked in memory of Courtney that donations be sent to: Teen Challenge Providence Women’s Recovery 572 Elmwood Avenue Providence, RI 02907.
