Cynthia L. Zarra

Cynthia "Cindy" L. Zarra 73, of Cranston passed away unexpectedly Tuesday April 2, 2024 at Rhode Island Hospital with her loving husband Donald P. Zarra, by her side. Born in Providence, Cindy was the daughter of the late Margaret and Herbert Medcalf and the step-daughter of the late Albert Gardner. Cindy lived in Cranston for most of her life. She graduated from Cranston High School East. Before retirement she was an office worker at several places, including Mack Trucks in Warwick. Besides Donald, Cindy is survived by the extended Zarra family and by dear, lifelong friends, especially the Villatico family. Cindy was a talented homemaker. She took much enjoyment in beautifully decorating her home for all the seasons and holidays. Like her mother, she was a great cook. Her chili recipe was the best! Cindy was very interested in politics and never hesitated to express her opinions of various candidates for office. Cindy loved all animals, both wild and domestic but especially her beloved cats to whom she was lovingly devoted. Cindy will be remembered for her thoughtful generosity to family, to friends, to neighbors and to others who enriched her life.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 10, 2024 from 5:00-6:30pm in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston.  A Memorial Service will immediately follow beginning at 6:30pm.
