Daniel F. Sullivan Jr., 71, of Coventry, Rhode Island passed away April 2, 2022 at Kent County Hospital. Daniel was born on September 23, 1950 in Jacksonville Florida to Daniel F. Sullivan Sr. and Eleanor M. McCormick. He was the beloved husband of 32 years to Joan (Curley) Sullivan. He will be lovingly missed, honored, and remembered by his entire family. He leaves behind his son, Jeff Sullivan and his wife Sandra Sullivan, their children Shea, Kendal and Lena, all of Rutland, Massachusetts. He also leaves behind his step children Lori Sollitto of Key Largo, Fla, and her children Ali and Luke Sollitto, along with Aaliyna (great grandchild) of Warwick, Johanna Logan and her daughter Ella Logan of Narragansett, and Luke Logan of Cranston. Dan graduated from Warwick Vets High School in 1968, earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Southern Maine in 1988, and his Masters of Science degree in Social Work from Rhode Island College in 1994. In addition to serving his country during the Vietnam war while a member of the Coast Guard, Dan had many hobbies and passions. He was an avid collector, rebuilder, and admirer of vintage stereo equipment. He loved music, his album collection is not only eclectic but rare and cherished. He enjoyed photography, playing the guitar, being outdoors, and in his younger days, building and riding his Harley Davidsons. As a spinal cord injury survivor at the age of 29, Dan’s spirit became unbreakable. His independence was fierce, his faith strong, and his love and dedication to his family and friends undeniable. He retired from the V.A. Hospital as a social worker in 2015. He enjoyed spending time with his wife as a parishioner in the Hope in Christ Church in Cranston.
