Darlene V. Chabot Obituary
Darlene V. (Wylie) Chabot, 78, of West Warwick, peacefully passed away on October 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late George T. “Tom” Chabot.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Darlene attended Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire. After graduating, she returned to New Jersey to begin her teaching career, educating 4th grade students at St. Genevieve School for four years. She later moved to Guilford, New Hampshire, where she continued her dedication to education—first teaching 5th grade Reading in Farmington for three years, and then 4th and 5th grades in Guilford for ten years.
In 1986, Darlene and Tom married. She continued her lifelong passion for teaching in the North Providence school system, where she spent the final 23 years of her 40-year career in elementary education, retiring in 2009. Darlene and Tom enjoyed the simple joys of life—quiet days at home, lunches out with friends and family, and their favorite tradition: traveling to St. Maarten.
She is survived by her three stepsons: Tom Chabot and wife Stacey, Peter Chabot and wife Jennifer, and Eric Chabot and wife Kelly. She was a proud and loving step-grandmother to Alexandra, Tyler and wife Taylor, Brinley, Sydney Curran and husband Liam, Nicholas, Reegan, Lily, Landon, and Lucas. Darlene was also the great step grandmother to Tyler and Taylor’s children, Decker and Bella.
Darlene will be remembered for her devotion to education, her warm heart, and enjoying the love she shared with her family and friends.
