Donald Totten Obituary

Donald B. Totten 62, of East Providence, formerly of Cranston, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2022, at the Hope Health Hulitar Hospice in Providence. Born on December 21,1959, he was the son of the late Myrle and Edna Totten and the husband of Janice (Williams) Totten with whom he recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on August 22nd.

Don began his career as a steamfitter at Electric Boat and retired as a technician for Verizon. Before moving to East Providence, Don was a lifelong resident of Cranston where he had many long-lasting friendships with his childhood friends. He graduated from St. Dunstan's High School in 1978 where he briefly met his now wife, Jan.  In his spare time, he enjoyed watching comedy shows, cooking, riding his motorcycle, watching sports - especially the Patriots, and most of all he loved playing with his best buddy…his dog Bruschi.

In addition to his wife Janice, Don is survived by his son Jonathan Hodgson and wife Nara stationed in Chesapeake, Virginia, daughter Brooke Reeves and her husband Kyle of Rehoboth, Massachusetts, grandchildren, Tessa, Mackenzie, Ari, and Emma, loving sister Marilyn Totten of West Warwick, nieces Cyndy, Suzanne, and nephew Bobby. He was the brother of the late Ricky Totten.

A Funeral Service celebrating Don's life will be held on Thursday September 15th at 6:00pm in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston.  Visitation will be held for 2 hours prior to the service beginning at 4:00pm.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Hope Health Hulitar Hospice 1085 North Main Street Providence, RI 02904 would be appreciated.
