Dorothea Hopkins

Dorothea "Dorothy" (Magnotta) Hopkins of Williamsburg, Virginia previously of Warwick, North Ft. Myers, Florida and Cranston, passed peacefully at home on January 9, 2025.

Dorothy was born on November 13, 1924, and recently celebrated her 100th birthday with family, friends and a well-attended Zoom link for those who couldn’t attend in person. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years John Edward Hopkins Jr., brother Anthony and sisters Ann Dorenbaum and Eva Rigney. She is survived by her brothers Peter and Alfred, children Patricia Malone (Jack), Deborah Swanlund (Carl) and Jack Hopkins (Sheila) as well as ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday January 24, 2025 at 11:00am in St. Mark Church 9 Garden Court Cranston. In lieu of flowers donations in Dorothy’s memory to one of her favorite charities St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.
