Dorothy Vadney age 91, of Cranston died peacefully at home on December 8, 2020. Her health had been declining in recent years. She was the wife of the late Joseph Vadney. They were married for 53 years. Dorothy was born in Providence, and was the daughter of the late Edward and Katherine (Murphy)Cox, and sister of the late Edward Cox. She was raised in East Providence and lived in Coventry during her early marriage and for the past 55 years resided in Cranston. Dorothy is survived by her children Glenn Vadney and his wife Valerie of Deltona, Florida, Barry Vadney, Charlene Popiel and Lori Vadney all of Cranston. She was the loving grandmother of Kerri Anderson and her husband Kevin of Coventry, Daniel Popiel and his wife Kimberly of Sterling, Connecticut, Michael Vadney and his wife Megan of Cranston, Larissa Passarella and her husband Anthony of Cranston, and Nicholas Vadney of Deltona, Florida. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Renee, Rachel, and Daniel Popiel of Sterling, Connecticut, Joseph and Ella Vadney of Cranston and Tyler and Ryan Anderson of Coventry. Dorothy was a homemaker who loved her family and was ardent fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. She was a member of St. Mark's church in Cranston. The funeral arrangements will be private.
