Elizabeth M. Smith 86, of Johnston died peacefully on Thursday May 9,2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald E.  Smith and sister to Hannah Brooks. She was born in County Kerry, Ireland and came to Rhode Island in 1955.  Upon her arrival she worked as a housekeeper at St Anthony's and St John's rectories in Providence. After her marriage she worked in the jewelry industry for many years until her retirement.

Betty was a loving daughter, wife, sister and aunt. She loved to cook, bake and host her family for many special occasions.  Her niece and nephews fondly remember her cooking breakfast for them on Saturday mornings after their paper routes. She will be remembered fondly and greatly missed by her family members.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Briarcliffe Manor for their dedicated and loving care of Betty.

Elizabeth's funeral will be held on Wednesday May 15, 2024 beginning at 8:30am from The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church 1804 Atwood Avenue Johnston.  Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery Cranston.
