Ernest C. Roles Obituary
Ernest Charles Roles left us after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 6, 2025. He was born on September 8, 1942, the son of Frederick and Violet (Lugg) Roles of Cranston and the youngest of seven children.
As a graduate of Cranston and a Votech schools, he became a carpenter and then served in the US Air Force boots down in Vietnam 1963 and was honorably discharged in 1966. Upon returning home, he married Donna Jean Parr, his neighbor from across the street and moved to Warwick to start a family in 1969. Over the next five years they gave birth to four children. Charley was an ever-present husband as he took care of his wife Donna, when she was diagnosed with diabetes, which quickly evolved into kidney failure and ultimately, led to her she passing away in 2009.
He is survived by his four children Kimberley Roles of North Kingstown, Brian Roles of Warwick, Karen and son in law Antonio Oliveira of Warwick, and Kristen Roles of Warwick, grandchildren Michael, Christopoher, Kassidy, and Alexis as well as a sister Janice Atol of Ohio.
