Obituary

Frederic F. Whiteside 82, of Cranston, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday January 8, 2023 after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was the son of the late Clifford and Mary Alice (Goff) Whiteside and brother to the late Thomas and John “Jack” Whiteside. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years Fay A. Whiteside, as well as daughter Karen Raimo, son David Whiteside, and granddaughter Adelene Raimo.

Fred applied his talent as a craftsman for over 60 years at the Potter-Rathbun Organ Company in Cranston. He was an equally devoted and supportive husband and father, demonstrating his love by caring for his family’s home and yard and being a part of all of life’s moments, big or small. A dedicated parishioner at the Church of the Ascension, he loved singing in the choir and served as a member of the Vestry.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday January 13, 2023 at 11:00am in The Church of the Ascension 390 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Hope Alzheimer’s Center or the Church of the Ascension’s Organ Fund.
