George Rocha 89, of Richard Street Cranston, passed away on Thursday September 15, 2022 with his family by his side. He was the husband for 45 years to Annette (DeNoncour) Rocha. Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island he was the son of the late Joachim and Arminda (Meneca) Rocha.
George grew up in Pawtucket and was a lithographic printer for many years until retirement. As a Korean War Army veteran, George served as a Military Communication Operator. After retirement George moved to Cranston and resided there for 40 years. In his early years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to the gun club and ice skating. In recent years, he could always be found in Garden City where he enjoyed Newport Creamery and Dunkin Donuts. He will be sadly missed.
Besides his wife Annette, he is survived by his sons John "Jack" late daughter in law Robin (Beland) Rocha, Steve and his wife Susan (Gabriele) Rocha, Richard "Rick" Rocha, nephew Gary Rocha, niece Maureen Rocha, step nieces Paula Arnold and Marie McRoberts, as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Americo "Mac" Rocha.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday September 22, 2022 at 10:30am in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will follow in The Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery Exeter.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's research Hospital would be appreciated.
