Helen K. Carpenter passed peacefully at Riverview Healthcare Center, Coventry, Rhode Island on March 15th at the age of 96. Helen, wife of the late Raymond S. Carpenter Sr., is survived by her children, Helene J. Carpenter, Linda R. Gorton and spouse William E. Gorton, Raymond S. Carpenter Jr., and Jacquelyn C. Carpenter. Helen was born on March 3, 1925 in Johnston, Rhode Island to John and Josephine Kalis. She graduated from Central High School in 1943 and is the only person to have received the superlative for perfect attendance. She married Raymond in 1948, and spent the next fifty years happily together. Helen worked as a Secretary at Roger Williams Hospital. She retired in 1996 and dedicated her remaining time to her twelve grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Helen was accomplished at needlepoint, sewing and gardening. Helen was an individual who loved the beach and to walk along the sand gathering shells.

The funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 10:00am in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston officiated by Rev. Pam Corcoran.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Service beginning at 9:00am.  Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Johnston.
