Jacqueline Edwards Obituary

Jacqueline E. Edwards 83, of Warwick, formerly of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Friday December 26, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

Jacqueline “Jackie” was the beloved daughter of the late Walter and Beatrice (Monahan) Edwards and sister of the late Beatrice “Claire” Durning and Arlene V. O’Donnell.

Jackie was adored by all who knew her. She had a charismatic smile and an infectious laugh, and she was gentle, loving, kind, and deeply compassionate. Jackie loved selflessly and wholeheartedly, always caring deeply for those around her. She was the family historian, faithfully remembering and keeping track of family members, friends, and even their beloved pets. With her sharp memory, she delighted in recalling moments from the past and sharing those stories with her roommates, friends, caregivers and family, keeping memories alive through her words.
Jackie filled her days doing the things she loved most. She had a special love for animals and cherished her three cats dearly, especially her beloved cat Raider, whom she affectionately called “Ray Ray.” She enjoyed going with her friends to Bingo, the movies, parties, getting her hair done, and going on excursions with her roommate, who was also her best friend. Above all else, Jackie’s favorite pastime was watching The Golden Girls, which brought her endless comfort and joy.

She is survived by her brothers, Walter “Chic” Edwards and wife Elizabeth “Liz” Edwards of North Kingstown, and James “Mike” Edwards and wife Jean Edwards of Rehoboth, MA.  In addition, Jackie leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, along with extended family who loved her dearly. She is also lovingly remembered by the residents and the devoted, compassionate staff of her home on Nicholas Lane of The Fogerty Center who became an important part of her extended family.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday January 2, 2026 at 10:00am in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service 9:00-10:00am. Burial will follow at Pawtuxet Memorial Park Cemetery Warwick. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jackie’s memory may be made to The Fogerty Center 310 Maple Avenue Suite 102 Barrington, RI 02806.

Jackie’s warmth, laughter, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
