James A. Goding

James Goding Obituary

James Arthur Goding 91, passed away peacefully at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, Florida surrounded by family on June 25, 2022. He was the husband of the late Nevora F. Goding. Born in Cranston, Rhode Island he was the son of the late Alden and Ethel Goding. Father to James A. Goding Jr., Kathleen A. (Goding) Grilli, Raymond E. Goding, Sandra L. Goding, Daniel E. Goding Sr. and the late Nancy J. (Goding) Leonard.  Grandfather of 14, and great grandfather of 22. He was the brother of Virginia (Goding) Jindra and the late Alden Goding Jr., Lillian M. (Goding) Lanni, and Marguerite (Goding) Somerville. James served our country as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps from 1951-1953 and also served as a Providence Police Officer from 1953 to 1973. He was a Past Worshipful Master Of the Overseas Military Lodge #40 in Cranston. James worked at Defelice Realtors, GRI before retiring to Vero Beach, Florida in 1990 where he then worked at ERA Realtors, GRI,CRS of Vero Beach, Florida.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday July 2, 2022 at 10:00am in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery North Kingstown.  Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00-8:00pm.   In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Hospice of your choice
