Jennifer L. O'Rourke 56, of Cranston died peacefully on January 29th, surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer. Jennifer was the beloved daughter of the late John F. and Jacqueline L. O'Rourke. Jennifer graduated from St. Xavier Academy in 1980 and earned a bachelors degree in accounting from Bryant College. A Certified Public Accountant in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, Jennifer continued her studies, earning masters degrees from Babson College and Bentley College. For many years, Jennifer worked for the Digital Equipment Corporation. In recent years, she has free-lanced for a number of companies. She was a master personal financial planner for the New England Carcinoid Connection. Jennifer loved to travel and was active in many varied organizations, including a roller-coaster club. Until recently, she was the President of the New England Carcinoid Connection, a cancer support group. She was active in the St. Xavier Alumnae Association and had been a member of the Board of Directors of St. Xavier Academy. Jennifer is survived by her brother Terrence O'Rourke, nephew Ryan O'Rourke, aunt Kate Lombardi, uncle John Long, cousins, and many friends. She was the sister of the late Timothy O'Rourke. Visiting hours will be from 5:00-7:00pm on Friday February 1st in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 2nd at 10:00am in St. Mary's Church Cranston. Interment will follow at St. Ann Cemetery.
