John E. Migliaccio Obituary
John Edward Migliaccio, 84, of Edgewood, RI passed away unexpectantly in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 15. He was the husband of Susan (Rankowitz) Migliaccio.
Born in Providence, RI on March 29, 1941, to Dr. Anthony and Mary (Rozen) Migliaccio, he was raised in Providence and summered on the waters of Conimicut where his love for sailing was born and fostered, racing S-boats for many a year, and attaining his USCG Captain’s license. He was a past Commodore of the Rhode Island Yacht Club.
Captain John loved his family and was kind to all those that knew him. He will be greatly missed indeed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children: Laura Migliaccio, Peter (Erika) Migliaccio, and Jay (Mika) Migliaccio, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and his sister Sandra Migliaccio-Gasbarro of Lexington, MA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Loretta DiLuglio and his brother Dr. Anthony Migliaccio.
He was a graduate of Classical High School, Colgate University, and earned a J.D. from Boston University School of Law. He worked in private practice for a number of years; as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Rhode Island for 10 years; and in many and varied venues thereafter.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday July 2, 2026 from 3:00-6:00pm at the Rhode Island Yacht Club 1 Ocean Avenue Cranston 02905. All are welcome.
