Kachadour Kojoian

Kachadour “Camp” Kojoian, 89, of Cranston, passed away unexpectedly on November 29, 2019. Camp was the son of the late Harry and Nazalie (Bedigian) Kojoian and the brother of the late Dr. Gabriel Kojoian and Michael Kojoian. 

For 64 years, Camp was the devoted husband of Marilyn (Thovmasian) Kojoian and loving father to Kevin Kojoian and Desiree (Kojoian) Manley.  He was the proud grandfather of Michaiah and Abigail Kojoian and Jesenia Manley.  

During the Korean War, Camp proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy aboard the troop transport, USS Marquette.  Following his service, Camp took a job at The Providence Journal and remained in its employ for 46 years; starting out in the cafeteria and ultimately working as a printing pressman.  

Camp sincerely enjoyed spending time with family and welcomed all who dropped by.  As a committed father, uncle, and grandpa he made a point to attend every little league game and recital he could.  Among his other interests were American political history, photography, and working in his yard.  

His passing is a loss to so many. 

Camp is survived by his wife Marilyn; son Kevin, daughter-in-law Elena Kojoian and their children Michaiah and Abigail; daughter Desiree, son-in-law Don Manley and their daughter Jesenia; sisters-in- law Leona (Thovmasian) Bailey and husband Wayne, Naomi (Thovmasian) Marsh and husband Nim, and Vanouhi Kojoian.  

Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm on Sunday December 1, 2019 in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. 

Funeral will be held at 10:00am on Monday December 2, 2019 in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church 402 Broadway Providence. Burial with military honors will follow in Swan Point Cemetery in Providence.
