Kent Gates

Kent A. Gates, 80, passed away peacefully at home on December 27, 2022. Born in Providence, he is the son of the late Alton K. Gates and the late Alice I. (Nelson) Gates.  He is the beloved husband of Carol L. (Barker) Gates and father to Kent A. Gates, Jr. and his wife Cathleen M. Gates of Coventry, and Scott C. Gates and his wife Kristine M. Belleville of Warwick.  He is the grandfather to Emily K. Gates of Coventry and Madison K. Gates and Samantha T. Gates of Warwick. 

A resident of Warwick for over 53 years, he served in the U.S. Army Reserve and was employed as a tool designer and manufacturing manager for Bostitch Inc. in East Greenwich for 25 years and as a manufacturing manager for Taco Inc. in Cranston for 10 years where he enjoyed being a member of the OCAT Taco Golf League. 

Funeral services will be private.  Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or Hope Health.
