Linda J. Cronin 78, of Keith Avenue Cranston, passed away on March 29, 2026 surrounded by family after a brief illness at the hospital. Born January 25, 1948 in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Rose Lewis of Cranston. Linda was the wife of the late John R. Cronin. Linda was raised in Cranston and lived the majority of her life there.
After graduating Cranston East the class of 1966, Linda went on to attend Rhode Island College where she obtained her graduate degree in Elementary Education. Linda started her teaching career at Notre Dame School in West Warwick, Rhode Island and ended her teaching as the director of Smith Hill Early Learning Center. We remember Linda for her passion of teaching young children, her love of reading a wide variety of books, but, most importantly, her love for her son John and cat Shadow which gave her life the most joy!
Linda leaves behind her beloved son John R. Cronin Jr. of Cranston, sister Trudy Carman of Coventry, nephew Thad Carman and spouse Julie Spatcher of Coventry, great nephew Calvin Carman, niece Samantha Boudreau and husband Michael, as well as great nieces and nephews-Mikey, Sophie, Gracie, Anthony, and Luke.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday April 8, 2026 at 6:00pm in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston.
