Lois-Belle (Hayman) Crankshaw 86, of Cranston passed away peacefully January 21,2022 with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Jack Crankshaw for 53 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late W. Harold and Ida Belle (Goswell) Hayman and lived in Cranston most of her life. Following graduation from Cranston High School, she received her Bachelor’s in Education from Rhode Island College. Lois-Belle spent her life educating elementary age children incorporating music, playing the piano, and singing into her teaching.
She is survived by her two devoted daughters, Lynne Correllus (Bob) of Attleboro, MA and Nancy Taylor (Tom) of Glocester, RI. She was the cherished grandmother of John Correllus-Chaplin (Westley), Ashley Correllus (Josh), Amanda Gonsalves (Andrew), and Laura Taylor and great grandmother “Gigi” to Jacob and Ethan Correllus. She was the twin sister of the late Joan-Sandra McKnight, sister to the late Ruth-Gloria Dexter and aunt to many loved nieces and nephews.
As an active member of the Presbyterian Church, Lois-Belle enjoyed fellowship and expressing her passion for music through singing in the choir. Lois-Belle and Jack loved to travel. They cherished wintering at the McDill Air Force Base in Florida, spending time with close friends and volunteering. While home in Rhode Island, her most memorable moments were spent with family and friends at sporting events, holidays, and community activities. In her later years, Lois-Belle enjoyed lunch dates and musicals with her daughters, family vacations, and spending time with her great-grandsons reading stories and singing songs.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday January 28th at 10:00am in The Calvin Presbyterian Church 126 Angell Road Cumberland.
Burial will follow in The Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery Exeter.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday January 27th from 4:00 to 7:00pm in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts in her memory may be made to the Calvin Presbyterian Church or Greenwood Community Church Presbyterian 805 Main Avenue Warwick.
