Manuel R. Dias "Manny" 92 of Providence, passed away April 10, 2024. He was the husband of the late Alice A. (Delgado) Dias. Born in Xartinho, Portugal, he was a son of the late Manuel and Francelina Dias. He is survived by his children, Michael Dias and his wife Louise, Manuel Dias, Jr., Deborah Jennings and her husband Albert, ten grandchildren Michael Jr., Amanda, Christopher, Nicole, Jeffrey, Jarod, Kayla, William, Brian, Nicole and numerous great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Cynthia Dias. Manny came to the United States from Portugal at the age of 12. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and later owned and operated Metropolitan Plating. He sponsored countless individuals to come to America. Manny was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. The state of Maine was like a second home to him. He taught his children and nephews how to hunt, fish, cook and be respectful of all things. He loved to play his Mandolin, strumming with his sons and making music and singing. He loved gardening and traveling, he visited and saw most of the United States and traveled to Portugal countless times. Manny was a great cook at home, the Portuguese Club or in the wilderness. He was the Past President of the Cranston Portuguese Club and Past President and co-founder of the Cranston Portuguese Rod and Gun Club. Manny was a great husband and father, he was a family man. He was a true friend to many people, helping them whenever he could. Visitation will be held Wednesday April 24th from 5:00-7:00pm in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Burial is private
