Margaret A. "Peg" Wood

Margaret "PEG" Wood, 68, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2023 at Oakland Grove Nursing Home. She was born in Asheville, North Carolina on August 9, 1954. Peg was the daughter of Evelyn M. Surrette and Arthur B. Wood, Jr. Peg was a self employed accountant and business owner. She received her BSA in accounting from Northeastern University, and her MBA in accounting from Suffolk University. Peg enjoyed socializing with her friends. She especially enjoyed the company of her cats. Peg was very involved with Oak Lawn Community Baptist Church. She volunteered at their annual May Breakfast, and looked forward to attending their many social functions. Peg was an avid reader, and often read several books at the same time. She enjoyed music and this was a big part of her life. She loved playing her guitar, and even dabbled with the piano. Peg is survived by her sister, Milly Smith; her brother-in-law, Bill Drozdal II; and her nephew, Thomas Smith III. Funeral arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to The Cat Sanctuary in Woonsocket, RI and/or to the RI Alzheimer's Association.
