Marilyn (Thovmasian) Kojoian, 91, of Cranston, unexpectedly passed away at her home on September 22, 2023. Marilyn was the daughter of the late Arthur and Gladys (Avedisian) Thovmasian and sister of Leona Thovmasian Bailey and the late Arthur A. Thovmasian, Jr. Marilyn was the devoted wife of the late Kachadour Kojoian, loving mother to Kevin Kojoian and Desiree (Kojoian) Manley. She was also the adoring grandmother to Michaiah and Abigail Kojoian and Jesenia Manley. Prior to motherhood, Marilyn worked as a bookkeeper at Citizens Bank. As her family grew, she became a remarkable homemaker; creating a home that served as a hub to extended family and friends. Marilyn’s generosity and kindness touched many. She poured her heart into each endeavor, big or small. She was an active member of the Hokejash, Bazaar and Picnic Committees at Sts. Sahag and Mesrob Armenian Church as well as Kindergarten teacher at Armenian School. In addition, she volunteered for the ESL program in Cranston Public Schools and served several years on the PTA. She leaves an indelible mark on all who knew her. Marilyn is survived by her son Kevin, daughter-in-law Elena Kojoian and their children Michaiah and Abigail; daughter Desiree, son-in-law Don Manley and their daughter Jesenia; sister Leona (Thovmasian) Bailey and husband Wayne; sisters-in-law Naomi (Thovmasian) Marsh and husband Nim, and Vanouhi Kojoian; generations of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday September 27, 2023 in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Funeral will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday September 28, 2023 in Sts. Sahag and Mesrob Armenian Church 70 Jefferson St. Providence, RI. Burial will follow at Swan Point Cemetery in Providence.
