Obituary

Marion Rose (Wall) Leighton, 84, of West Warwick passed away peacefully on March 29, 2023 at The Scandinavian Home in Cranston. She was the wife of the late John H. Leighton, Jr. 

Born in Providence on August 31, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Rose (Rooney) Wall.  Marion was a 1959 graduate of the Roger Williams Hospital School of Nursing and attended Boston College. As an RN, she spent much of her nursing career in long term care in both administrative and director of nursing positions.  She was most recently the Director of Admissions at The Scandinavian Home before retiring in 2012.  Marion was an avid reader who loved to travel and try new recipes.

Marion is survived by her daughter Susan Campanelli of Warwick, sons Michael (Stacey) Leighton of Medfield, Massachusetts, John H. Leighton III of North Kingstown, brother Raymond Wall (Kathleen) of North Scituate and Ronald Wall (Charlene) of Honolulu, Hawaii.  She was also the loving grandmother to six grandchildren: Rachael, Katie, Shauna, Samantha, Abigail, and Max.

Visitation will be held on Saturday April 29, 2023 from 10:00-11:30am in The Butterfield Chapel.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 11:30am immediately following the visitation.

All family and friends are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers donations to the West Warwick Public Library 1043 Main Street West Warick, RI 02893 would be appreciated.
