Marvin Emery Obituary

Marvin W. Emery 89, of Cranston passed peacefully at home on Sunday July 7, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband of 64 years to Marilyn (Males) Emery. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Marvin S. Emery and Ethel (Doughty) Wahl. Marvin proudly served in the US Army. He worked at Browne & Sharpe and later at Stanley Bostich where he retired. Marvin was a long-standing active member of Oaklawn Baptist Church where he served on numerous committees. He was a 50-year member of Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge and was a past Dad Advisor of the Woodridge Assembly/Order of Rainbow for Girls. Besides his wife, he is survived by daughters Sharon Hagopian (Jack) and Laurie D’Orsi (Bill) both of Cranston as well as grandchildren Derek (Alyssa) and Brandon Hagopian. He was the father-in-law of the late Richard D'Orsi and brother of the late Stuart Emery.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday July 12th from 9:00-10:00am in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. A Funeral service will immediately follow beginning at 10:00am. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to HopeHealth Hospice & Palliative Care 1085 North Main Street Providence, RI 02904.
