Mary L. (Smith) Connetta 68, of Sunset Ridge Drive Cranston died peacefully at home on Monday March 11th after a two year battle of breast and pancreatic cancer. She was the wife of James A. Connetta. Born in North Kingstown, she was the daughter of late Sarah N. and William H. Smith. She worked as an activity director at Cornerstone Adult Daycare for many years. Prior to that she was a OR tech at Rhode Island Hospital. She loved cooking, spending quality time with her grandkids and grandcat, going shopping with her daughter, acting silly, and going on road trips with the family. Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter Erin M. Connetta Robinson, grandchildren Jamie A. Connetta, Toni E. Connetta, beloved cat King, sisters Gloria Jackson of Texas, Dianne Soares of Warwick, Danita Gustos of Riverside, Pamela Augustus of Providence, and Yolanda Smith of Providence, brothers William H. Smith of Texas, Jimmy and Michael Smith of Providence, and Robert Smith of California, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Sebrena Malko and Annette Byrd. Her funeral will be held on Friday March 15th at 10:00 am in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery Cranston. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm
