Maureen Kane Obituary

Maureen A. Kane 68, formerly of Cranston, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2024 at the Bannister Center for Rehabilitation after a long illness. She worked as an administrative assistant for the Disabled American Veterans for many years before retiring.

Maureen was born November 15, 1955, in Providence and was the loving daughter of the late George E. and C. Barbara (Clavin) Kane. She was the sister of George E., Kevin M., Terrence J. and the late Michael S. and Brian T. Kane as well as a special aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Maureen spent most of her life living in Cranston. She attended St. Matthew’s School for 9 years and graduated from Cranston East High School in 1973. Maureen was an outstanding tennis player in her youth and had a great love for her family. Friends and family remember her at all family functions and always happy especially with her nieces and nephews. Whenever a family problem arose, Maureen was right there to give support. She will be remembered as loving, sweet, and kind while always thinking  of others first. Maureen touched many people and will be missed by all. She was a special blessing to her family.

Visitation will be held on Monday May 13, 2024  from 5:00-6:30pm in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. A Funeral Service will be held at 6:30pm at the conclusion of the visitation. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Maureen’s memory to the Disabled American Veterans Providence RI VA Regional Office 380 Westminster Mall Providence, RI 02903  or to DAV.org.
