Maureen A. Sitler 

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Maureen A. Sitler 58, of Cranston on February 8, 2025

Maureen was born in Port Jefferson, New York in 1966 to the late Edward and Marilyn (Kogler) Sitler.  She grew up in Commack, New York before moving to Albany for 45 years and then finally to Rhode Island.

Maureen leaves behind her loving mother Marilyn, and was the adored sister of Kathleen Schmal (Roger), Edward (Joan), Eileen Coffey (Andrew), Christine Pulsifer (Gregory) and James (Heather). She was the doting aunt of Casey Fenkart (Gregory), Julianne and Justin Sitler, Caitlin and Ryan Coffey, Elizabeth, Ava Pulsifer and Owen Pulsifer, Cory and Maggie Wright. In addition she is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Maureen was born with Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome and other health issues. Despite her mental and physical disabilities she was always happy and had a big smile just like her dad.  She loved parties and being with her family. Maureen competed in the Special Olympics. She loved to paint and listen to music. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday March 22, 2025 at 10:00am in St. Matthew Church Cranston.

Burial will follow in The Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery Exeter.

Donations in Maureen’s memory to HopeHealth Hospice would be appreciated.
