Norma C. Lynch passed away peacefully on May 28, 2023 at the Kent Regency Nursing Home surrounded by family. She was 95 years young and a lifelong resident of Cranston. Norma was born in Providence on March 30, 1928, the daughter of Anna M. (Di Tomasso) and Ralph Frank Cianci. She was married to the late James M. Lynch for 68 years until his death in 2015. Norma was a freelance artist, an entrepreneur, and a business owner. During the 1950’s she established Norma’s Casual Corner, a couture clothing store. During the 1980’s, she created The Scentuous Herb, a craft gift store which led her to develop her freelance work as a craft artist. Norma was an extremely creative soul who loved the arts. She enjoyed painting landscapes, walking the beach on a winter’s day, sitting by the ocean, eating lobster and cherrystone clams, and caring for her prize geraniums. She was a supporter and advocate of St. Jude, and Padre Pio was her patron saint. Norma was a fiercely independent thinker, and above all, a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her first born son Dr. James “Rip” Lynch, Jr. and survived by her sons Gary P. Lynch (Beth) of West Orange, NJ, John “Jack” Lynch (Rebecca) of Bloomfield, NJ and Brian V. Lynch of Cranston, her sister Jean Gatto of Montclair, NJ, along with her five grandchildren: Neal Lynch, Hayley Staples, Tyler Lynch, Annabella Lynch, Grace Lynch, and 4 great children.
A Memorial Service will take place on June 28, 2023 in St. George Maronite Catholic Church 1494 Cranston Street at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Norma’s memory can be made to the St. Jude's Children Research Hospital. https://raise.stjude.org/fundraiser/477750
