Patricia Baxter Obituary

Patricia Joyce Baxter 82, of Johnston, passed away on Friday September 29, 2023 after a long and fulfilling life. She was surrounded by loved ones. Born on September 7, 1941 in Providence, she was the daughter of Dorothy Marie (Russo) and Benjamin Clarke Baxter Sr. She was the devoted mother of Julie Anne Baxter -Van Ballaer. Patricia was a proud 10th generation Rhode Islander and Bryant University graduate (former Bryant College of Business Administration). She enjoyed a long career of 31 years at Swan Point Cemetery and was elected the first woman corporate secretary.  Patricia had been a girl scout leader and a member of the Pawtuxet Rangers Fife and Drum corps. She was a talented artist and calligrapher. She was also a member of the Johnston Senior Center where she quilted and knitted, donating quilts and knitted articles to hospitals and various charitable organizations. Patricia enjoyed visiting her daughter in Belgium during the last 31 years and had many friends there. She will always be remembered as a proud and loving mom, kindhearted woman and good friend to many. Besides her daughter, Patricia leaves her brothers Robert and Richard Baxter of San Diego, California. She had wonderful sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews whom she adored. She was also blessed with wonderful friends and her bonus daughter, Darlene Costa for whom she was very grateful. She was the sister of the late Gregory and Benjamin Baxter.

Funeral and burial will be private.
