Phyllis Eileen (Gifford) D’Amico, born on January 24th, 1939, passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 29, 2022. Born to John Francis and Evelyn Victoria (Loven) Gifford of Hope, Rhode Island, Phyllis was a devoted daughter and loved her family dearly. She is survived by her siblings, Patricia Gifford of Arlington, Virginia, Meredith (Gifford) and Peter Vermann of New York, New York, and Faith Gifford of Cranston, Rhode Island.
Phyllis and Salvatore A. D’Amico were married on June 28th, 1969. Their lifelong time together was filled with unwavering adoration and love for one another. Having just celebrated their 53rd anniversary, they will forever be united in heart. Phyllis was a beautiful role model of a wife and mother. Her children Salvatore D’Amico Jr., John and Tammy D’Amico, and Melanie and William Fiore will forever cherish her immeasurable and unconditional love. Phyllis’ greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren: Delicia, Meghan, Courtney, Anthony, William, and Thomas. She cherished her nieces, nephews, cousins, and friendships, holding each one of them dear in heart. Having dedicated her life to serving others, Phyllis was a pediatric nurse for over four decades at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Her passion, love, and nurture for others expanded out to her many years of dedication to various church communities and programs. She will be greatly missed by all of the many lives she has touched.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday July 1, 2022 at 10:00am in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Visitation will be held for 1 hour prior to the service beginning at 9:00am. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
