Ricardo Abreu Obituary

Ricardo Antonio Abreu Abad, Our loving husband, father, papa, son, brother, uncle and friend (March 21, 1966 – April 2, 2024)

Though born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, raised in Santiago (Villa Gonzalez, Dominican Republic), Ricardo was a true son of Manhattan, New York. Raised here from youth, he grew to find his lives calling, as a husband, father, and independent business owner. Meeting his wife Daisy as a teenager at 15 years of age, they soon began a loving marriage, which span 39 years of utter and complete devotion. Together they raised two children, Soldenia and Joshua, with dutiful vigilance, compassionate understanding, and unwavering love and support. A genuinely self-made man, Ricardo completed an MIT program working on renovating houses and construction. His work was his life’s passion, and the vitality of his spirit and tireless work ethic will live on. Ricardo enjoyed the simple things in life such as his passion for dancing, singing, family and spreading the love of God to those, he met. Ricardo was a kind and joyful soul who brighten any room he walked into and any individual he met. His heart of gold shined through his acts of service in dedicating many years of his life to helping others and in service to his Christian faith and membership in Hope in Christ Church. A legacy that will remain in perpetuity. His mother, Rosario Abad and brother’s Omar Abad, William Abreu, Ricardo Miguel Amador, Roselio Marcelino Abreu Duarte, and sister Carmen Marta Abreu Coronado, survive him in death along with his loving wife, Daisy Abreu, and his grateful children Joshua Abreu and Soldenia Salas and her three children, Nathaniel, Daniel and Soljayla. Ricardo Abreu lives on in the hearts and minds of his loving family and friends.

“Strength and Honor”
