Robert A. Smith

Robert A. “Bob” Smith 84, of Cranston, passed away on September 20, 2023 after a brief illness.  Bob was the devoted husband of Elaine (Renzi) Smith for 42 years before she passed away in 2018. Bob was born in Providence and was the son of the late Arnold F. and Margaret (Cleary) Smith.  Bob is survived by his sisters Joyce B. Smith of Cranston and Marjorie Melidossian of Warwick.  He was the brother of the late Joan Threlfall.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Bob was an MBA graduate of Bryant University. He worked in corporate finance for many years and later worked as a consultant for the SBA. Bob and Elaine enjoyed spending time with dear friends in Key Largo, Florida. They traveled extensively, visiting many different countries and continents.  One special trip combined their love of classic cars into a memorable road trip along Route 66. 

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday September 27th at 10:00am in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 26th from 5:00-7:00pm.  Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery Warwick.
