Sarkis Stephen Yazidjian 59, of Coventry, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday October 14, 2025. He was a jeweler at Providence Diamond and a former owner of Yazidjian Jewelers, The Jeweler’s Bench, and Sarkis & Sons. He was the beloved husband of Denise (Charpentier) Yazidjian.

Born in Providence, he was the son of Sergio E. and Bette A. (Ray) Yazidjian and grew up in both Plantation, Florida and Cranston, Rhode Island. Sarkis was fiercely devoted to his work, and his dedication to his craft made him a highly sought after jewelry designer. He created unique, one-of-kind pieces that became cherished works of art by his clients. He demonstrated a strong work ethic, right up to the end. Since work left him with little recreation time, he prioritized spending that time with those he loved. One of his favorite pastimes was doing anything related to movies, watching at home with a bottomless bowl of popcorn. He loved cooking for and eating with his family and friends, specializing in homemade pizzas, steaks, and fresh local seafood. He had a passion for motorcycles and could talk about them endlessly. Most of all, he enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his sons, attending game dinners together and meeting them every Thursday for breakfast, to check in and catch up with the latest details of their lives. Sarkis had the ability to tell a story that captured everyone’s attention and left them laughing till they cried. He had a sense of humor and a captivating smile that no one could resist.

In addition to his wife, Sarkis is survived by his sons Sarkis S. Yazidjian II and Evan H. Yazidjian of Cranston and Dante S. Yazidjian of Coventry. He is also survived by his sisters, Shirlie O. Yazidjian of Cranston and her fiancé Bryan Gnieski; Sonya L. Yazidjian Laplume of Warwick, her husband, Leo, and their children; and Sandra Yazidjian of Warwick. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Rose Charpentier and brother-in-law Doug Charpentier. 

Visitation will be held on Monday October 20, 2025 from 5:00-7:30pm in The Butterfield Chapel. 

A Funeral Service will follow immediately after the visitation at 7:30pm in the chapel.
