Sean Patrick Hayes 39, of Providence, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday October 12, 2023. Born in Providence on March 26, 1984, Sean was the son of Patrick and Michelle (Kolb) Hayes.
Sean was a graduate of Cranston High School West, where he was a member of the varsity basketball team. Sean worked as a grocer, which he enjoyed very much. He also loved spending time with his family and friends, playing chess, spending time on the basketball courts, all animals, the beach, sipping on Dunkin Donuts iced coffees and working out to stay in shape. Sean was a die-hard New England sports fan. He was a very positive and upbeat person, always finding the good in others. Sean always saw the glass half full. He had a radiant smile that lit up any room he entered and was always eager to help anyone that was in need. Even when that meant that he'd have to go without. He embodied the bible verse Mathew 25:40. He was an inspiration to all he met.
Besides his parents, Sean is survived by his two brothers, Kevin and Ryan Hayes, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephew, and many friends. Sean was very close to his late "Memere" and "Pop-Pop" as well as his late "Grandma Lil".
All are welcome to attend a Catholic Rite of Committal in the chapel at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery 163 Smithfield Avenue Pawtucket on Friday October 20, 2023 at 11:00am. He will be buried in a family plot next to his beloved "Pop-Pop".
