Obituary

Stanley Greenwood, passed away peacefully at Hebert Nursing Home on Saturday February 18, 2023. He was born in Cape Town, South Africa on October 16, 1936 and moved to the United States in 1978. He is survived by his only son Neil. He was a dad, grandfather to Jade and Kim, and a great grandfather to Blake & Leonard. Stanley loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved his work and church equally. He made his life in Rhode Island and also had stories about all his friends that became family in Rhode Island, including the congregation at St. Luke’s Episcopal church in East Greenwich. His family and friends in South Africa are heartbroken because they lost a legend.

We the family would like to thank Dana & Geo for everything they did for my dad.  You were always willing to help us with anything.  You were always just a phone call away.  We appreciate everything and words cannot express how grateful we are. Thanks to Butterfield Funeral Home and Father Tim Rich for arranging everything.  A special thanks to the staff of North B at Hebert Nursing Home. You were amazing and always made my dad comfortable. You were his family there and Pappa will be forever grateful.
