Stanley A. Gustafson Obituary

Stanley A. Gustafson of Beech Avenue, Cranston, Rhode Island passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.  He was two weeks shy of his 95th birthday.  Born in Cranston, he was the son of Anton Gustafson and Edith Gustafson (Benson).  He is predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary M. Gustafson (McCarthy), his son David M. Gustafson and his sister, Virginia Winterbottom.  He is survived by two daughters, Mary A. Ouellette of Smithfield, RI and Debra McKeon and her fiancé Paul Medeiros of Cranston.  He was also grandfather to Matthew Ouellette, Edward McKeon, Jessica Ouellette and Kara McKeon.

He was a dedicated father and grandfather and a loving, generous and kind man who spent his entire life helping others.  If any one of his friends or family ever needed help, he was always the first to step up, never asking for anything in return.  He was a very quiet man, however you always knew what Stanley was thinking.  In earlier years he enjoyed boating and many a Coors Light with his friends and family.  He was also an avid Patriots Fan and enjoyed watching with his grandson, Eddy.  He served in the US Navy during World War II.  Stanley was a Carpenter by trade and a very skilled craftsman for over 50 years and was a member of the Carpenter’s Union Local 94.

A military ceremony will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 301 S.
